The fireplace: focal point of the Parisian interior

Since the golden age of Haussmannian architecture, the fireplace has occupied a central place in Parisian interiors. Whether period or contemporary creation, it structures the space, draws the eye and creates a natural gathering point in the living room. Wild Renovation designs and builds custom fireplaces in Paris to suit every configuration: restoring a period fireplace, creating a contemporary hearth or completely transforming an existing fireplace.

Our approach rests on a close dialogue between architecture, craftsmanship and the art of living. Each fireplace is drawn according to the available space, the apartment's style and the owner's wishes. The result is a unique piece, perfectly integrated into its environment.

Firebox types: bioethanol, insert and decorative

The choice of firebox type determines the technical and aesthetic possibilities of your fireplace. Wild Renovation masters the installation of each technology and guides you towards the solution best suited to your situation.

The bioethanol firebox: total freedom

The bioethanol firebox has become the reference for Parisian apartments without a chimney flue. It produces a real, warm and mesmerising flame without any smoke or ash emissions. Its installation requires no connection — neither gas, electricity nor flue — offering total freedom of placement. Contemporary burners feature flame lines from 40 cm to over 150 cm, enabling spectacular architectural compositions.

The wood-burning insert: tradition and performance

For apartments with a compliant chimney flue, the wood-burning insert offers the incomparable pleasure of a real fire with thermal efficiency reaching 80%. Modern double-combustion inserts considerably reduce fine-particle emissions while maximising heat output. Wild Renovation handles flue lining, insert installation and custom surround creation.

The decorative fireplace: pure aesthetics

Some projects prioritise aesthetics without heating function. The decorative fireplace — with a hearth filled with candles, luminous pebbles or simply left empty — retains all its architectural power. It can accommodate a monumental marble or stone surround without the technical constraints of heat and smoke.

"The fireplace is the living heart of an interior. Custom-made, it becomes an architectural work in its own right."

Exceptional materials: marble, stone, steel

The fireplace surround is the visible expression of your taste and standards. Wild Renovation works with the finest marble craftsmen and stonemasons to produce surrounds of remarkable precision and beauty.

Styles: from Haussmannian to minimalist

Wild Renovation designs fireplaces across all stylistic registers, adapting to the architectural identity of each apartment.

Haussmannian style

The Haussmannian fireplace is distinguished by its generous proportions, moulded mantel and marble shelf. We restore period fireplaces scrupulously respecting original profiles, or create new fireplaces faithfully reproducing Second Empire decorative vocabulary: scroll consoles, foliage friezes, central medallions. Light marbles — Carrara, Estremoz — are preferred for their historical authenticity.

Contemporary style

The contemporary fireplace favours clean lines, geometric volumes and raw materials. A monolithic marble block, a minimal steel frame or a firebox set into a polished-concrete wall create maximum visual impact with economy of means. The linear bioethanol firebox with its horizontal flame line is particularly suited to this aesthetic.

Minimalist style

Minimalism pushes sobriety to its limits: the fireplace virtually disappears into the wall, reduced to a perfectly cut opening. The surround is flush, with no projecting shelf or mantel. The flame becomes a pure graphic element framed by monochrome materials — white render, grey stone, matt steel.

Co-ownership regulations in Paris

Installing a fireplace in a Parisian apartment requires compliance with several regulations. Co-ownership rules may prohibit or restrict wood use. Existing flues must be inspected and, if necessary, lined in accordance with DTU 24.1. Bioethanol fireboxes, while exempt from flue requirements, must comply with NF D35-386 and room-ventilation requirements.

Wild Renovation handles all regulatory procedures: existing-flue diagnosis, application to the building management, works declaration if required and compliance certification on completion. This administrative expertise frees you from all constraints and guarantees a lasting, compliant installation.

Creation process

Each Wild Renovation custom fireplace is born from a structured creative process. The first step is a thorough technical visit to your interior to assess architectural constraints, placement possibilities and the style to adopt. Our interior architects then produce sketches and photorealistic 3D renders allowing you to visualise the fireplace in its real context. After approval, fabrication is entrusted to our marble and metalwork artisans, followed by meticulous installation by our team.
